The company
Gerwin Silotechnik GmbH, based in Beckum, specializes in the design, manufacture, and installation of silo systems and bulk material storage and conveying systems. Over more than 40 years, this owner-managed family business has developed into a recognized supplier throughout Europe and regularly implements large-scale projects worth tens of millions of euros.
The project
As part of an age-related succession plan, Westfalenfinanz GmbH provided exclusive advice to the family of shareholders led by Mr. Michael Gerwin. The aim was to find a buyer who would respect the established corporate culture while also providing new impetus for sustainable growth.
The process
Despite a challenging market environment in plant engineering, the transaction was successfully structured and implemented in a competitive process. An ideal buyer was found in the Metzen Industries Group. A special feature of the transaction was the complex structure of asset and share deal elements, which enabled a tailor-made solution for both sides.
At the same time, the long-standing managing director of Gerwin Silotechnik was given the opportunity to acquire a stake in the Metzen Industries Group.
With this acquisition, Metzen Industries is specifically strengthening its material handling division and expanding its portfolio in the field of bulk material handling technology and silo construction. The Beckum site will remain in place and is to be expanded as part of further growth.
