The project

Mr. Klein’s goal was to arrange for his succession in a timely and orderly manner. Since succession within the family was out of the question, he commissioned Mr. Bolz to find a suitable buyer.

In addition to a thorough evaluation of the company, particular emphasis was placed on the compatibility of a new shareholder with the corporate culture and the prospects for employees. For reasons of discretion, employees were not initially involved in the process, which made gathering information challenging. Nevertheless, through close collaboration with the entrepreneur, high-quality and actionable documentation was produced, enabling a professional approach to the market.

The process

From the outset, the search for a buyer focused on medium-sized craft business groups, as these best matched the desired criteria. The company was looking for a partner that stood for stability and sustainable growth and could offer both the company and its employees a reliable new home.

Thanks to the company’s strong market position and positive performance in recent years, demand was very high: more than ten offers were received, including several highly attractive options. During in-depth one-on-one meetings, the seller and the prospective buyers got to know one another, and Mr. Klein selected the option that best suited him and the company.

Mr. Klein will remain with the company as managing director and will actively assist in the search for a successor.
